The word comfort comes from two Latin words meaning with strength. To be comforted is truly to be given the strength to face any situation. Dr. Blair is dedicated to providing comfort within a confidential and supportive environment; helping her clients find the best in themselves and helping them take the action they need in order to live each day fully and with self-respect. There is no single pathway to healing and growth and everyone has his or her own learning style and pace. Dr. Blair is sensitive to each person’s individual needs and readiness for change.
Any disparity between your inner values and your outer life (your choices and behavior) can cause deep personal pain. Facing the truth about ourselves and our lives can cause deep personal pain. Most of us go to great lengths to avoid this pain and that avoidance becomes part of our daily routine. It takes tremendous courage to break out of old patterns because we are intentionally destabilizing ourselves. If we want more clarity and the opportunity to do something different, we need to allow ourselves to feel the pain. Most of us could use an encouraging voice as we develop the emotional muscles necessary to endure long enough to change.
